Argus CPC Talks Stolen Paintings and Convictions for FBI Retired Case File Review Podcast

Argus CPC partner Geoffrey Kelly recently sat down with retired FBI agent, author and podcaster Jerri Williams to discuss his investigation of Robert Mardirosian for possession of stolen art and the recovery, over 30 years after the crime occurred, of a Paul Cézanne painting valued at $29 million and other artwork stolen during the largest residential burglary in U.S. history. Thanks to Geoffrey’s intense work on the case, and assistance from the Art Loss Register, Mardirosian was convicted at trial in Boston and was sentenced to seven years in prison.

The case involved many twists and turns, from clandestine meetings to secret contracts and confessions on NPR (of all places). It’s a great lesson in the critical need to properly secure private art collections, and that justice in art crime cases can take decades.
